Lesson 8 Reflections

While mildly amusing, this lesson is of doubtful utility to me as a teacher of upper level students in High School English. It would seem to be much more useful to those who teach middle or lower school classes. It is interesting, however, to see some of tools that people develop and seem to want to use.

  1. Hmm... I have seen some examples where high school teachers had students create their own "de-motivational" posters based on a common theme to a piece of literature. (Think of what motivational poster Ahab could have in the cabin of the Pequod, for example.) Then the teachers used the posters to facilitate a discussion of irony, which some high school students miss.
